What music are you really into right now? Like, really really digging, having emotional connections with, changing your life for the better kind of stuff.

I want to hear it. Email me: cloudkickermusic@gmail.com

I’ve spent the last couple hours collecting Fade ideas that didn’t make it and putting them on Soundcloud. There might be more but I haven’t gotten to them yet.

Also I upgraded my Soundcloud account so now you can download anything you like from there if that’s what you want to do.

I finally got around to thinking about a way to put all the old myspace music on Bandcamp. Go here.

I like that everything is in one place now.

I’m on reddit doing a thing, probably for some hours.

Fade

Happy birthday to me, and also Butch Vig coincidentally. What better way to celebrate than by making the newest effort “Fade” available?

It is available for digital download right now at Bandcamp. Same deal as usual—get it for free by paying zero dollars or give me money for it. Either way, enjoy. In the coming month or two you’ll see a CD and LP pop up, we’re just getting the ball rolling on those so it might take a little while, especially for the LP.

That’s about it, thanks for everything.

I updated the equipment post to include stuff I used on Fade.

Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock

In case you didn’t know, the proper way to listen to this track is to turn up the clean intro to the volume you are used to hearing music, and then get completely obliterated when the song hits.

Say what you will about Billy Corgan but this album is fucking rad. The balls-to-the-wall guitar riffs, Jimmy Chamberlin’s ridiculous drumming, Butch Vig’s insane production. And it’s dynamic as hell, thanks to it being recorded in 1993 and not >1998.  You feel every kick and snare hit like it’s actual drums being played, quiet parts actually get quiet, and loud parts scramble your brain—the way it was meant to be, damn it (p.s. get off my lawn).

I’ve been listening to this pretty steadily for about six months.
